Great book and comprehensive. Essential book for a pain specialist. Much focus on pharmacology and basic pain mechanisms but somewhat limited on descriptions of pain syndromes and treatments.
The book has got almost everything I need for my pain management degree course except it doesn't cover much on ethical issues

The various narcotics and their judicious usage in chronic pain are also covered in depth.The biochemistry and pharmacology of inflammatory mechanisms and appropriate treatments are also covered in-depth. NSAIDs, opioids, psychotropics have separate chapters and are handled with care. Complications of pain management, pitfalls, and other issues are described.
